Virginia Beach Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon 2008

2008 September 3

It was Sunday. My third VA Beach half-marathon. It was HUMID. HEAVY. LABORSOME. Definitely the warmest, least hospitable long run I’ve done so far. Whew! I went hoping for a 1:55 finish, I did it in 1:58. No worries. It was NOT the weather I trained for, nor expected. Just goes to show how much a few humidity percentages can change your results in athletics.

Now I can cross off my fourth 1/2 marathon and move on to the 5 mile run this Saturday at Smith Mountain Lake and then the Roanoke Star City 1/2 in November. Should be MUCH cooler there!

Good for you!! I can’t imagine running 1 mile, let alone 1/2 marathon!!! I’m quite impressed…and just 3 minutes over your goal with crazy humidity….WOW!!! I must agree with sheramblings…you rock! :)

My wife was thinking about going to that. But then I explained to her how long of a run that is going to be.

    Good job on it though!

Congrats on the 1/2 marathon… I’m jealous! Unfortunately I stopped running a few years ago. I never should have stopped. It’s so hard to get back into it.

My wife and I will be spending Thanksgiving with my mom in Roanoke.
