New Alive Ministry Site

I’m a complete amateur at website building, but I think I could have been a site developer in another life. I am fascinated -not with the computer tech aspect of website building - but with the control the site lord has over their precious Internet domain.

*I like control, and it helps me get it out of my system to practice it within the safe realms of little-fish-in-big-sea web-presence*

So my latest project is a new, more respectable website for the Alive ministry. Not that the one attached to this little blogsite was so bad - but it was difficult to explain to people that on one page you could learn about our little group and on the next you could dive deep into my personal opinions and not-always-so tactfully stated feelings on every random subject relevant to a small-town young married woman’s life. Plus the extensive name violated the most basic of website principles: a concise, relevant, easy to remember domain name.

So here’s my pet, let me know what you think!

Alive = the Real Thing

Here I am on a Saturday, the only day I have any control over my schedule, and I’m finally putting up a post. A few weeks ago it was all I could do not to post every five minutes and now it’s all I can do to post every week.

I’m still getting used to adding a 40-hour/week job to the other committments I’d made prior but each week it gets a little better. The Saturday morning ladies’ brunch I started just before the holidays is still going and has been useful for touching base with women who can’t make it to our Alive meetings on Wed. nights. That’s why I planned it and that’s the role it’s fulfilling. I spent time with a girl this morning who I have come to really appreciate and depend on. She found our little group at the end of the summer and has been a real blessing. It’s so wonderful when a new person “sticks” and doesn’t just float in and out a few times and then disappears.

Calling Out Lurkers of The Epiphany

Filed under: blogging, fellowship, friendship, fun, life, lurking, relationships — theepiphany @ 8:06 pm

My blog friends Maggie and Mandy have both posted on this subject and I thought I’d make my own attempt to call out my blog lurkers since I have the feeling I have a few that might comment if they knew how much it would mean to me.

Do you visit my blog regularly (at least a couple of times per month) and NEVER comment? It’s time to show yourself!! Hey - if it makes it any easier you can make up an anonymous name (oh but I would love it so much if you would just come all the way out if I know you as a friend or acquaintance.)

I’ll give you something specific to comment about if that helps:

I want to know:

1) how often you visit- give me your best guess

2) how you found the site

3) why you return for more visits

4) if you have a blogsite of your own

You can answer any one or all of these and I will be THRILLED.

Now it’s your turn…
